Burton's exit from the field in the Witzer Pre-Season Challenge victory over Newcastle has sparked concern. With the Bulldogs set to jet off to Vegas, the fate of their opening game against the Dragons hinges on the upcoming scans.
But here's where it gets controversial... Coach Cameron Ciraldo remains optimistic, believing the injury is minor and the decision to bench Burton was purely precautionary.
"He felt something, but it's not too serious," Ciraldo assured the media. "We're taking no chances, but he's confident he'll be ready for Vegas."
If Burton is ruled out, the Bulldogs have a plan B in the form of Sean O'Sullivan, who impressed in his appearance against the Knights.
